Spaghetti is one of those dishes that seems to have made it into the heart of many. I have yet to meat someone who hasn't had some variation of spaghetti. Italian food is so comforting and delicious. It's kid friendly and of course fun to eat if you are a noodle slurper. Do you cut yours up with a knife and fork or twirl it with a fork and spoon? If you have kids like I do, this is a messy meal that usually ends with a face covered in spaghetti sauce. Start the bath! I'm sure you all have your own variation of spaghetti sauce but I will share mine just incase you want to give it a try.
-1lb ground beef/pork mix
-1 can diced tomato's and its liquid
-2 cans spaghetti sauce
-1 can sliced mushrooms or the equivalent in fresh mushrooms
-2 medium onions diced
-1 green bell pepper diced
-Half a head of garlic minced
-Dash of Worcestershire sauce
-1 tbsp parsley
-1 tbsp basil
-Salt and pepper to taste
-1/2 tsp Montreal steak spice
-1 tsp garlic powder
-1 tsp onion powder
-Half a package if spaghetti noodles cooked in salted water until Al Dante.
Fry the ground beef and pork mixture then set aside. Add sliced mushrooms and onions to the same pot and cook until browned. Then add minced garlic and sauté for a minute. Return beef to the pot and add in all other ingredients. Simmering on low heat for 30 to 60 min. Taste to check seasoning and add addition salt and pepper or other spices as desired. Serve over spaghetti noodles and top with your favorite cheese.
